[there's a quiet city standing in the middle of the desert when suddenly, brilliant balls of light appear from the sky, floating down and then settling in the middle of the square before revealing... a few very confused visitors.]

Crikey... what just happened?

[one in particular starts wandering the streets, holding onto his hat and maybe looking for some answers... or the nearest tavern.]

[the black-haired youth approaches him]

Are you alright? What happened?

[Ach, there's a familiar face! Elvis is more than a little relieved to see someone who might actually be able to understand his questions, too. More than one of the folks he'd stopped to talk to had asked him to repeat himself repeatedly. Maybe the accent?]

No idea, laddie. One moment I was there, minding my own business, the next I'm here in this place! What about you?

[His expression turns grim. It seems that Elvis doesn't know what's going on either.]

I'm fine, though I'm not exactly sure what happened either.

[He groans, deep in thought. Is this even the same Elvis he was travelling with? Only one way to find out.]

What was the last thing you were doing?

[Elvis doesn't even question the question.]

You said something about the old lady we saw in the book's vision? [He has to think back on it, combing his beard with a hand.] After we erased its memories. The Night's Nexus's memories.

[So this Elvis isn't the same. Was it the Nexus's doing? It can't be. It's already dead.]

This is bad. I don't think you're the Elvis I know. You haven't destroyed the Nexus yet?

[elvislesley]

[Hmm... that makes him pause a wee bit. Not the Elvis that Seth knows? Surely there can't be more than one strapping young Elvis out there. But what does this mean?]

Not yet, but we will. You can be sure of that.

[As soon as they find that old lady that Seth knows. Probably.]

I wonder what's happening...

[As a force of habit he opens up the book to look through it, as though it might help.]

[Waiting on a response from Elvis, his mind wanders. If the Night's Nexus still exists on a different world, then is this all in vain? Even then, there's the current issue of not knowing where he was right now. The only clue they both have is that book. Yeah... Not a great place to be, having to rely on her wisdom again.]

Inanna...

[that name doesn't ring a bell.]

Eh? What's that, laddie?

[Damn, he was thinking out loud.]

Oh, it's nothing.

[elvislesley]

[no, this has gotten Elvis's attention.]

[There's a brief pause. If he tells Elvis, it won't break anything, right? Well, only one way to find out.]

She's the Night's Nexus. Or was. I'm not exactly sure what's going on right now, with it still being alive on your end.

The Night's Nexus... Crikey!

[Seth had implied that the Elvis he knew had already defeated the Night's Nexus, so Elvis is simply assuming this is all revealed after what he remembers. He'd known the Night's Nexus was a human before she became... whatever she became... but having a name is something new.]

[Oh good, Elvis isn't asking for more details.]

Yeah. It's something we found out later.

[It's true, technically. He only remembered during their final battle.]

Did you find anything yet?

[That makes sense. Elvis won't question it, yet, but he'll file that knowledge away for later. For now, he focuses on Seth's question.]

Find anything? Ach, I can't find the tavern at all!

[Of course. That's Elvis alright.]

Let me help you find it then. I could also use a drink.

[The tavern is where you can find all the tea. And the booze. And the gossip. Elvis goes there for a reason.]
